MUMBAI: Pooja Bhatt may be questioned by the social service branch of Mumbai police regarding an obscenity complaint filed against the posters of the film 'Rog'.

MUMBAI: Actress-turned-filmmaker PoojaBhatt may be questioned next week by the social service branch of the Mumbaipolice regarding an obscenity complaint filed against the posters of the film. Bhatt is the producer of the filmthat released all over India on January 7.Police sources saidsummons have been issued to both Bhatt and co-producer Sujit Kumar Singhfollowing a complaint on January 11 by St Xavier''s College lecturer PratibhaNaithani.The posters, put up in theatres and on billboards, show ascantily-clad South African model Ilene Hamman. "I have nothing against the filmas it has been certified by the film board for viewing by adults. But whenobscene posters are displayed across the city, it cannot escape the eyes ofminors," said Naithani.The police also intend questioning thecontent designer of the posters. Another filmmaker Dilip Gulati, whose film was released recently and whohas been named in the complaint, may also be summoned forquestioning.The penal action in these kind of cases is minimumimprisonment of two years and fine of up to Rs 2,000. If the offence isrepeated, the sentence could extend to five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs5,000.Naithani had also recently filed a public interest litigationin the Bombay high court against adult content screened ontelevision.Bhatt''s secretary Iliyas Nathani said he was unaware ofthe case. Bhatt could not be contacted.
