Pancholi has helped Munir escape: Police

MUMBAI: Police officials, who called actor Aditya Pancholi to Versova police station on Wednesday for questioning, believe that he had helped self-proclaimed "scientist'' Munir Khan escape.
Khan claimed to have a cure for all diseases, including cancer, with just one medicine (Body Revive). Wanted in three cases, Khan escaped from his clinic at Empress Court on Yari Road last month before a police team reached the spot.
Zonal DCP KMM Prasanna said, "We called Pancholi mainly to inquire about Khan's whereabouts.'' Officers said they had inputs that he helped Khan.
Pancholi, however, feels he is paying the price for being a celebrity. "A woman cop, Kalpana Gadhekar, asked if I knew Khan, I told her that `I knew him and was friends with him'. Asked how long I knew him, I said for a year and that, too, for my mother's treatment,'' he told TOI.
