No razing in schools during academic year

NAGPUR: School education minister Vinod Tawde said on Friday that demolition of any illegal construction in a school will not be carried out during the academic year. The minister said the state will instruct all district and civic officials about the decision.
The announcement was made after the issue was raised by members of legislative council Varsha Gaikwad and Sunil Raut.
Recently, four classrooms of Ganesh Vidyamandir, Dharavi, were razed by the BMC a day before students returned from Diwali holidays. The students had to sit in the open for classes.
