Mumbai: Video phone calling raids lead cops to porn racket

A raid on an alleged video phone-calling sex racket in Malad have led police to a porn shooting racket. On specific information the crime branch (unit XI) on Monday busted a call centre in Malad and rescued 12 girls who were in a video phone sex racket.

MUMBAI: A raid on an alleged video phone-calling sex racket in Malad have led police to a porn shooting racket. On specific information the crime branch (unit XI) on Monday busted a call centre in Malad and rescued 12 girls who were in a video phone sex racket.
Police also arrested the proprietor of Sea-link Media and entertainment officer from Jaswanti Allied business centre in Malad under the stringent Maharashtra Protection of Dignity of Women (MPDW) Act 2016., obscenity and under the Information Technology Act.

Deputy commissioner of police (crime) Sangramsingh Nishandar said they have rescued 12 girls from the call centre and have arrested its owner, Brijesh sharma. After a search of his office police found small cubicles from where the girls used to chat and talk sex with subscribed members on the dating app Chamet.
On a further search of the office police found porn material which have been videos shot there. "We have found even found a camera, bedroom porn videos which have been shot there. We are in identifying those who have acted in the movies. We will check if they have acted under duress," said Nishandar.
He said this was the first time that such a video calling sex racket has been busted in Mumbai. Sources said there have been video sex rackets where call centre people in Delhi, Agartala, West Bengal and other parts of the country were targeting people by blackmailing and collecting extortion money.
"Once you charge your account on the mobile application, you can call on the given numbers a choice of girls you like and the girl on the other side will indulge in sex talk, gestures, sexual appeals and undress herself over the calling,'' said an officer.
