Dharavi reported a spike in new coronavirus cases with 30 persons testing positive on Thursday. According to the official information shared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the total number of COVID-19 cases in Dharavi climbed to 4,328. Asia’s largest small scale industry, which had reported zero new cases for two consecutive days in January, is now once again witnessing a surge in coronavirus cases.

MUMBAI: Caught between following the rulebook and adopting a humane approach, those in authority chose the latter. BMC officials have written to the police to cancel a criminal offence filed against a woman and her two children who recently fled a quarantine centre.

Water supply will be cut off in parts of Ulhasnagar on Friday and Saturday for repair and maintenance work of the main pipeline that supplies water to the town. An official circular dated March 17 read that the water supply in the main pipeline near the Shahad water tank will be stopped on March 19, Friday.

At least six staff members employed with the departmental store D-Mart in Thane district's Kalyan have tested positive for coronavirus. The incident took place at the Bail Bazaar branch of D-Mart in Kalyan. The Bandra railway police have caught hold of a man, accused of offering tea spiked with drugs to fellow passengers at railway stations in the city, and fleeing with their valuables after rendering them unconscious.The incident came to light when one Deepak Sharma, who was travelling to Bikaner in Rajasthan from Bandra Terminus was duped in a similar fashion.

Mumbai: Mulund BJP MLA Kotecha alleged a scam in a Rs 250-crore contract for ticket-issuing machine and online reservation system by MSRTC.The MLA urged chief minister Uddhav Thackeray to order a probe. Kotecha said MSRTC board approved a tender for a new contract in July 2020 but chairman (Shiv Sena minister Anil Parab) did not approve it for months despite reminders.
