Women’s Day special

To mark International Women's Day, the Maharashtra government has set up 189 special vaccination centres exclusively for women. An average of five vaccination centres dedicated only for women in each of the 36 districts in the state have been set up. Covid-19 vaccination

A 72-year-old Vasai Archbishop Dr Felix Machado received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination at Diwanman civic health centre in Vasai on Monday. People who are 60 years of age and above and those in the 45-59 age bracket with co-morbidities have started taking the vaccine. Meanwhile, Mumbai reported 1,361 fresh Covid-19 cases and six new deaths due to the virus on Sunday.

Ladies Special

On Women’s Day, Bhayandar - Churchgate Ladies Special train was driven by the first motor woman of the Western Railways Preeti Kumari. She was later greeted by women commuters at Churchgate station. Today, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)-Panvel local was also operated by motor woman Manisha Mhaske.

Meet Mumtaz Kazi

The CSMT-Kalyan local train was operated by motor woman Mumtaz Kazi. The train left CSMT at 8:49 am. Along with Ghome and other motor women, the first woman driver of Indian Railways, Surekha Yadav, drove the all-women-staffed Mumbai-Lucknow special from Mumbai on Monday.
