Mumbai carriageway of Pune expressway shut for 2 hours today

NAVI MUMBAI: The Mumbai carriageway of Mumbai-Pune Expressway will remain closed for two hours on Thursday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, prohibiting plying of light, heavy, and multi-axle vehicles, as MSRDC will be installing two Gantries under ITMS (Intelligent Traffic Management System) project near Palaspe, Panvel. The two lane serviceable gantries will be erected at 29.40km and 9.80km distance on the Mumbai carriageway of the expressway, informed Yogesh Bhosale, assistant police inspector of the highway safety patrol.

API Bhosale said, "During the closure of the Mumbai carriageway of the expressway, all light vehicles and passenger buses travelling from Pune towards Mumbai will be diverted from Khopoli exit to reach the old Mumbai-Pune highway (NH48), travel along Khopoli town and reach Shedung toll plaza and then further travel towards Mumbai. Also, all heavy and multi-axle vehicles will be diverted towards old Mumbai-Pune highway at Khalapur exit near the toll plaza to reach Shedung toll plaza. The vehicles will be diverted from Shedung phata to reach Borle toll plaza and travel towards Panvel to further head towards Mumbai."
