Mumbai: Bhojpuri actress ends life at her Andheri residence

MUMBAI: A Bhojpuri actress ended her life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her rental flat in Andheri (West). The incident came to light after the deceased Anjali Srivastava (29) did not respond to her relatives repeated phone calls on Monday. The matter was observed at around 12.45pm when the flat-owner open the flat and found her hanging. “Anjali’s relatives repeatedly was trying to get in touch with her. Finally when she did not respond to their several calls, they called the flat owner and asked to check her well-being,” said Mumbai police spokesperson, DCP Rashmi Karandikar.

The relatives got suspicious and called Anjali’s flat owner asking to check her wellbeing. “The flat owner used a duplicate key to enter the flat and after seeing her hanging from the ceiling fan alerted the building residents and called the police. Anjali’s dead body was found hanging with a saree. Her dead body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for a postmortem,” said the police.

Police are probing to ascertain the motive behind the actor’s extreme step of ending her life.

Srivastava was a popular face in Bhojpuri film industry. She last shot for Bhojpuri film, Kehu Ta Dil Mein Ba. Meanwhile her last post on Facebook was on June 6 when she wished her parents a happy wedding anniversary.
