Misery reigns as rains lash Mumbai

The fourth straight day of very heavy rainfall across Mumbai and its surrounding areas poured more pain on train and road commuters on Monday. The situation is unlikely to ease as IMD has forecast a very wet week for the city.

MUMBAI: The fourth straight day of very heavy rainfall across the city and its surrounding areas poured more pain on train and road commuters on Monday.
Late on Sunday night, a 30-year-old man was electrocuted in Govandi.
Palghar and Dahanu received 340mm and 299mm rainfall in the 24 hours till 8.30am on Monday. While Worli and Dadar received over 150mm, Malad got over 300mm of rain in just 12 hours.IMD has forecast extremely heavy rain on Tuesday.

About 250 trains services were cancelled across the suburban railway network and flooding on roads threw traffic out of gear. Several long-distance trains were also hit.
