MUMBAI: In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the 26/11 terror attacks, IDBI Federal Life Insurance along with Sea Hawks Foundation announced The Tribute Run on November 25.
"We encourage everyone in Mumbai to participate in the first-ever memorial marathon of India, The Tribute Run, and run for those who sacrificed their lives for us," said Karthik Raman, chief marketing officer of IDBI Federal Life Insurance.
Additional commissioner of police (south region) Pravin Padwal, former police commissioner Julio Ribeiro were among those present at the event.
The Tribute Run will commence and culminate at The National Sports Club of India in Worli, the venue partner of Sea Hawks Foundation, and will be in three categories-21km (half marathon), 10km and 5km.
"We need to remind people of the lives lost by bringing them together," said Sarlaben Parekh, who had lost her son and daughter-in-law in the 2008 attacks. Mayank Vyas Singh, trustee of Sea Hawks Foundation, said, "The police, firefighters, defence forces and citizens of Mumbai all need to come together and salute their courage and heroism. Mumbaikars must run for a cause."
