MUMBAI: A 30-year-old man has been arrested from Rajasthan for the murder of his 40-year-old wife in Nalasopara.

Hardik Shah had fled to Rajasthan after allegedly strangling his wife Megha.

The decomposed body was discovered on Monday at around 6.30pm when residents of Sheeta Sadan in Nalasopara (east) complained of foul smell from a second floor flat.

The flat was rented by the couple over two weeks ago. As Hardik was missing he was the prime suspect. He was tracked to Rajasthan.

The body has been sent for at autopsy. The victim was identified after the owner of the flat shared the rent agreement copy with the cops.

Tuling police has registered a case of murder against Hardik.

The reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
