IT engineer rams bike into cop jeep, dies

NAVI MUMBAI: A 26-year-old youth riding a bike was killed after he collided head-on with a police jeep near Millenium Business Park in Mahape on Monday afternoon.
“The deceased Vikrant Yadav, hailed from Haryana and resided with his friends in Kopar Khairane. He is an IT engineer with a firm in Millenium Business Park. On the fateful day, he was riding towards his office along the internal road.After overtaking a sedan, he collided head-on with a police jeep coming in the opposite direction. The jeep belonged to Thane crime branch unit,” said Chandrasen Deshmukh, senior inspector of the Turbhe MIDC police station.
Deshmukh added, “The police driver attempted to prevent collision by veering to the left and climbed on the pavement. Despite this, the biker rammed into the jeep and sustained grievous injuries. He was rushed to the civic hospital in Vashi, but he was declared brought dead. He was not wearing a helmet.”
