IIT-Bombay volunteers clear garbage along Powai lake

MUMBAI: Around 300 volunteers from IIT-Bombay cleared approximately 1.5 tonnes of garbage on a 1.5km stretch along the Powai lake on Sunday.
This was the second edition of their clean-up and awareness campaign initiated earlier this year.
After the drive, BMC officials spoke about their plans to separate solid waste going into the lake. The drive was a collaborative effort by Abhyuday, IIT-Bombay's social body and BMC.The campaign was aimed at cleaning Powai lake banks to promote a cleaner, greener and healthier environment.
