If NDA wins again, Modi will jail entire opposition: INDIA bloc

MUMBAI: INDIA bloc, at a Parivartan rally at BKC on Friday, tore into PM Modi. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said people should vote Modi out as otherwise he would put the entire opposition in jail. He said that if NDA won, Amit Shah would become PM after Modi turned 75. He said Yogi Adityanath would be removed as UP CM soon.

Kejriwal said people would have to give their answer to Modi’s politics of jail by voting. “I am going to be in jail on June 4, from there I will see the outcome of the polls, so if democracy is to be saved, people should reject Modi. If you want to see me in jail, then vote for Modi. If you want to see me as a free man, vote for the INDIA bloc. One nation, one leader is the secret mission of Modi. If he wins again on June 4, he will put Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, all in jail. CCTVs had been installed in my jail cell and Modi’s office has the screen. He watches everything I do. They say I will go to jail again on June 2, now you have to decide,” he said.

Kejriwal said Modi called Sharad Pawar “bhatakti atma” (wandering soul). The language, he said, did not befit a PM but was that of a street hooligan. “He is also eliminating leaders in his own party. Be it Fadnavis, Khattar, Chauhan. Yogi’s number is next,” the AAP chief said.

Earlier in the day, at a rally in Bhiwandi he attacked Modi in a similar manner.

At the BKC rally, Uddhav Thackeray said Modi was trying to take people’s attention away from real issues like hunger and employment. “After June 4, you will only be Modi (and not PM). With a mercenary army, you are trying to finish off Uddhav Thackeray, but your politics will be buried in this soil. This Shahu-Phule-Ambedkar’s Maharashtra will not allow it to become Shah-ModiAdani’s (Maharashtra). We are on one side, and traitors and mercenaries are on the other side. A hoarding crashed and many people were killed but even before their blood dried, you became so insensitive and cruel that you held a road show there with dhol and pomp. You have given tickets to sons of traitors but you cut the ticket of Pramod Mahajan’s daughter. What is Poonam’s crime? If there was no Pramod Maha jan, the Sena-BJP alliance would have never materialised and if Pramod Mahajan were alive, there would be no Modi, as Mahajan would have become PM,” Thackeray said.

Kharge said people of India would ensure the defeat of Modi-led NDA to protect democracy. He said Modi had promised Rs 15 lakh in each person’s account, two crore jobs every year and remunerative price for agriculture produce, but miserably failed to implement the assurance.

Pawar said his bhatakti atma would not take Modi’s comments lightly and would not sit still till Modi was dis lodged from power. “Ensuing Lok Sabha election is crucial for the country. We must exercise our franchise to save and protect our Constitution. Modi is insisting on more than 400 seats in Parliament so that he will be able to change the Constitution,’ he said.

He said that under Modi, the country was facing a dangerous situation as people who expressed their views against him or the NDA govt were straightaway put in jail. “Top opposition politicians in the country are languishing in jail on flimsy grounds. We have to end this rule and ensure that democracy is saved. We can achieve this if Modi is ousted,” Pawar said.

AICC observer Ramesh Chenithala and MVA politicians Sanjay Raut, Prithviraj Chavan, Nana Patole, Vijay Wadettiwar and Naseem Khan were present at the rally. RJD’s Tejaswi Yadav and SP’s Akhilesh Yadav videoaddressed the rally. Mahatma Gandhi’s greatgrandson Tushar Gandhi was also present.

Pawar said anyone opposing Modi and the NDA was straightway put in jail. Kharge said Modi wanted to end reservation for SCs and STs.
