The Bharat Gaurav special tourist train embarked on a six-day heritage circuit across Maharashtra. Covering iconic sites from Raigad to Kolhapur, this immersive journey is jointly launched by the Maharashtra government and Indian Railways to celebrate the valor and vision of the legendary Maratha ruler.

Journey begins with Raigad Fort
The train will make its first stop at Raigad Fort, where Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation took place, offering passengers a deep dive into Maratha history.
Historical Immersion in Pune
On day 2 tourists will explore Lal Mahal, Kasba Ganapati temple, and the interactive Shivsrushti theme park during their day in Pune.
Visit to Shivneri Fort
Day 3 will feature a visit to Shivneri Fort, the birthplace of Shivaji Maharaj, where tourists will pay tribute to the early life of the Maratha icon. The fort is situated on a hilltop overlooking the Junnar.
Sacred stop at Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga
On day 4 the pilgrimage to Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples will add a spiritual dimension to the historical journey, drawing reverence from all participants.
Exploring Mahalakshmi temple and Panhala Fort legacy
The journey will conclude on Day 5 with visit to Kolhapur’s Mahalakshmi Temple and Panhala Fort also known as 'Fort of Snakes', reflecting on key military events tied to the Maratha empire.
