Has Sena dissolved BVS?
MUMBAI: Has the student wing of the Shiv Sena, the Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena (BVS), been disbanded? Spokesperson of the Shiv Sena, Rahul Narvekar told TOI, that the BVS has been dissolved into the Yuva Sena recently floated by Aditya Thackeray, grandson of Sena chief Bal Thackeray. Narvekar said the Yuva Sena will be the new interface of the parent body with the youth, including students.

He said various activists of the BVS would continue to take up issues relating to their respective colleges, but the office-bearers would cease to hold their posts.
However, senior MP of the Shiv Sena, Sanjay Raut denied that the BVS has been dissolved. Narvekar clarified later that ``there is no official decision on the organisational restructuring of the BVS.
Sena sources said the youth base of the Sena would have been split between the BVS and the Yuva Sena and hence it was felt that the BVS should be dissolved and its activities should be conducted under the banner of the Yuva Sena, which was launched by Bal Thackeray at the mammoth Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park last Sunday.
