The next morning his staff opened the store in presence of Shrivastava. After a few minute, they found Shrivastava had disappeared from the store. They started to count the jewellery and found the diamond necklace missing, the police said. The employees informed the owner and alerted the police.
The police said that Shrivastava is untraceable after the incident. “We suspect that as soon as the employees opened the shop and headed towards the main counter, Shrivastava could have stolen the necklace and escaped,” said an officer.
The police have collected CCTV footage of the jewellery store. They have also called other security guards and the employees of the store for questioning.
The police said that the jeweller had verified Shrivastava’s details before hiring him. The police are now trying to trace his relatives and friends. “We have a clue in the case and will trace Shrivastva soon,” said the police. The Bndra police also informed the city crime branch about the incident who is conducting a parallel probe in the case.
