MUMBAI: The Antop Hill police arrested a 37-year-old man on Thursday for allegedly sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl at a school in Sion-Koliwada where she studies. The accused, Mukesh Mishra, is a security guard at the same school. A Class-II student, the victim lives with her parents in the nearby area. On Wednesday, she was going to the toilet at school when the guard accosted her.
He took her to a deserted staircase in the building and allegedly sexually assaulted her. On returning home, the girl did not reveal anything to her parents. But at night, when she fell ill, she told her parents about the incident.
After discussing the incident with their relatives, the parents decided to first confront the guard before approaching the police.
The family members went to the school on Thursday morning and cornered the guard. They allegedly beat him up on the school premises before dragging him to the Antop Hill police station. The accused has been arrested on the charge of rape.
