Gadkar bail ruling today

MUMBAI: Judge Sanjay V Patil will pass the order on Janhavi Gadkar’s latest bail plea on Wednesday following extensive arguments on Tuesday. She has been denied bail several times.
“Continuing her custody after 57 days in jail and completion of investigation will amount to punishment before trial. There is no difficulty in releasing her on bail with appropriate conditions,” said her advocate Amit Desai.
He protested that the fact that she is a qualified lawyer and that she “lived alone” have been mentioned in every hearing by the prosecution as if it were grounds to deny her bail. The prosecution contended she could abscond as her husband stays in Hyderabad and that freeing her could send a wrong signal after two persons were killed and four others injured in the accident she is accused of having caused.
