In the Bombay Scottish incident, the Mahim police have registered a complaint against "unidentified miscreants'' for damaging school property. On Sunday, some men blackened the word Bombay written on one of the gates with tar and replaced it with Mumbai.
"In this case, the police questioned local Sainiks but they denied any involvement. We recorded the statement of Parmendra Jha, the school watchman," said inspector Anant Gawde, Mahim.
Abhijeet Panse, president of the Sena's student wing, said, "Everybody should start using the word Mumbai. If not, we will continue our agitation."
