MUMBAI: A fire broke out at a scrap yard along Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road in the Kurla scrap area of Mandala in Mankhurd on Tuesday morning.
The incident was reported at 8.15 am and was classified as a Level I (minor) fire at 8:19 am. According to officials, the blaze was confined to oil cans, plastic materials, dry waste and stockpiles of wood spread across an open ground measuring approximately 50 by 500 feet.
A total of four fire engines, five jumbo tankers, two water tankers, one quick response vehicle and a 108 ambulance were rushed to the spot.
Firefighting operations are currently underway.
No injuries have been reported so far.
