MUMBAI: Noted film maker Lawrence D'' Souza Thursday night survived an attempt on his life when two gunmen opened fire at him outside his office here, police sources said.
The attackers, suspected to be members of of Ezaj Lakdawada gang, opened fire at D''Souza at Oshiwara at about 7.30 pm and fled from the scene immediately on a motor bike, the source said, adding he, however, escaped unhurt.
D''Souza, who directed films like blockbuster Saajan, had been receiving telephone calls from the gang asking for ransom, they said.
He also directed ''Arzoo'', ''Sambandh'', ''Nyaya Anaye'' and ''Sapne Sajan Ke''.
