MUMBAI: A inspector posted at the police control room has been suspended for allegedly naming a person in an FIR without enough reason. An FIR was filed against
Yash Shah, grandson of film financier Bharat Shah, for a brawl at a pub and the name of another person was added to the FIR “without any grounds” on November 23 last year when the officer, Anup Dange, was posted at Gamdevi police station.
Yash and his friends allegedly abused, assaulted constable Santosh Pawar and also tore his uniform. Yash and six others were arrested. A separate case was filed against Shah, his son and Yash for creating a ruckus at the police station and assaulting a cop.
During an inquiry, police officials found that Dange asked Pawarto name someone not involved in the case, in the FIR. Dange was transferred to the control room.
Senior police officials will decided about the person whose name had been added to the FIR.
