Two men on a motorcycle robbed a 47-year-old businessman of Rs 2 lakh after he withdrew the amount from a bank in Ghatkopar (E) on Tuesday.

MUMBAI: Two men on a motorcycle robbed a 47-year-old businessman of Rs 2 lakh after he withdrew the amount from a bank in Ghatkopar (E) on Tuesday. The police said it was difficult for them to prepare sketches of the culprits as no one could get a good look at them. Also, the bike they were riding had no number plate.
Businessman Ritesh Puriya, a resident of Savla building in Pant Nagar, had gone to Canara Bank on R B Mehta Road.

Around noon, he withdrew Rs 2 lakh and put it in a plastic carrybag. His passbook and payslips were also in the bag.
After Puriya crossed the road outside the bank, two men on a bike snatched the bag from his hands before speeding away. Puriya raised an alarm but the men had escaped by then.
The Pant Nagar police have registered a case of theft and are investigating further.
