Mumbai: Domestic air ticket prices on certain routes from Mumbai and Delhi for travel during the Diwali week, which falls in mid-November, have already climbed to higher fare buckets. Air travel during Diwali vacations have always been expensive, but the quantum rise this year has been the steepest in recent times, said travel industry insiders, reports Manju V.The return airfare for a Mumbai-based family of three planning a Diwali holiday in Coorg worked out to Rs 81,000. “The cheapest return fare on Mumbai-Mysuru was at Rs 19,600, but it was for a 6.45am departure from Mumbai. The flight has a longer halt at Hyderabad... Though way more expensive, we opted for the 8am departure from Mumbai which comes with a shorter transit time...
