Del-Mum airfares hit ₹14k, among costliest globally
Mumbai: The 24-hour advance purchase airfare to fly Delhi to Mumbai non-stop, currently priced around Rs 14,000, is among the priciest domestic fares in the world. Even with a weak rupee, a passenger from India will find the last-minute fare on the busiest domestic routes of countries such as the US, the UK, Australia, China, South Korea and South Africa priced lower, reports Manju V.Brazil had a more expensive domestic fare though. While Delhi-Mumbai is India’s busiest route, for Brazil, it’s the 55-minute flight from Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro. On Monday, the cheapest listed fare for travel within 24 hours started at Rs 26,800. In other countries, the last-minute fare (in INR) on their busiest domestic route was priced lower than Delhi-Mumbai.
