MUMBAI: The high court directed Doordarshan to pay Rs 10 lakh as damages for violating the copyrights of documentary film-maker Anand Patwardhan's 1975 film called Waves of Revolution. Patwardhan had approached the court almost five years ago when he alleged that the government broadcaster used a portion of his film in a 2003 short film entitled 26th June 1975.
The HC held that Patwardhan's copyrights were violated as DD used footage without his permission.
