MUMBAI: Plan for a surprise visit on the occasion of their son’s first birthday turned tragic when a drunk driver
collided his SUV
with a
young scientist’s car
. The scientist’s car turned turtle on the
Freeway towards Dongri
and the couple sustained minor injuries on Friday night.
The accident took place at around 10.30 pm on Friday.

(27), a scientist with the BARC, and his wife, Druvi (26) were on their way along with their son, Neil, to Druvi’s parents’ house in Grant Road. “Neil was to turn one and the couple planned to give a surprise visit to his grand parents’ house.
The trio was travelling in a car from Chembur to south Mumbai. The drunk driver, Kuldip Sinha, a Vashi resident, lost control over wheel and collided his car with Gogal’s,” said an officer from the Dongri police station. Gogal’s car turned turtle but they escaped miraculously with minor injuries.
On learning about the accident, the traffic and Dongri police personnel reached to the spot and rushed the injured couple to JJ Hospital. Sinha was arrested for drunk driving and grievous hurt.
