Badlapur to turn off traffic signals during afternoon

Badlapur: In a relief to commuters, particularly two-wheeler riders, often stuck at traffic signals in extreme heat with temperatures touching 42 deg C, traffic signals across Kulgaon-Badlapur will be switched off between 1.30pm and 4.30pm starting Wednesday. Ruchita Rajendra Ghorpade, president of Kulgaon-Badlapur municipal council, explained that "traffic movement is relatively low during the afternoon hours". The civic body has advised motorists to exercise caution and strictly follow traffic rules.
