MUMBAI: The BEST undertaking has introduced an Amnesty Scheme 2024 for electricity consumers of all categories whose power meters were removed between October 1, 2006, and December 31, 2020 due to non-payment of bills.
Under this scheme, interest on arrears and delayed payment charges will be waived after recovery of arrears amount as on the date of meter removal, said BEST general manager Anil Diggikar.
"Consumers can participate and avail the benefits of this scheme for six months from August 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025, " he added.
For information and to avail benefits of this scheme, consumers in the island city can contact the divisional engineer (customer care) of the respective wards.
