MUMBAI: Things are looking up for the proposed 22-km Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL) between Sewri and Nhava. As many as 40 companies, including Indian and global majors, have expressed interest in conducting the techno-economic feasibility study for the ambitious project.
The response has delighted the officials of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) who had invited tenders for the study.
Among the global firms which have come forward are Australian company SMEC, One of Canada’s leading engineering organizations SNC-Lavalin Group, Dar Consultants of the UK and international consulting firms Ernst & Young, KPMG and L&T-Ramboll Consulting Engineers Ltd.
The pre-bid meeting will be held on May 12 while June 15 has been set as the last date for the submission of tender documents. The consultants for the Rs 8,000-crore project are likely to be appointed in August.
