MUMBAI: The Nehru Nagar police on Tuesday booked a proprietor of an advertising company and a private contractor who impersonated BMC officials and illegally cut a few big trees of a housing society in Chembur to make way for advertisement boards.

The accused have been identified as AK Advertising firm proprietor Afroz Khan and Devang Advertising company's S Yadav.

Two workers have also been booked. Kunal Vairal, a resident of Pragati cooperative housing society in Chembur lodged a complaint saying on May 30 a few men barged into the society and claimed to be from BMC tree department. They even threatened the members.
