MUMBAI: In view of the fierce drought in the state, the Maharashtra government has allowed a total of 367 cattle camps in the districts of Beed, Latur, Osmanabad and Ahmednagar. By April 21 st, there were 271 cattle camps in Beed, 88 in Osmanabad, 5 in Ahmednagar and 3 in Latur. The camps have a total of 3.83 lakh animals.
Marathwada is facing the brunt of the drought, having experienced the calamity four times in the last five years. There is only 3% water left in Marathwada's dams.
