3 women held for shoplifting in Dahisar

MUMBAI: The Dahisar police recentlyarrested three women for shoplifting. The women hoodwinked the store ownerbefore fleeing with the goods.The three women���Geeta Saklia(25), Geeta Thavdia (27) and Suman Waghela (18)���are residents of Wagripadain Vasai. They went to a garments store in Dahisar (E) on the pretext of makinghuge purchases. The police said while the store owner was busyfetching the outfits the women had demanded to see, the trio sneaked out fivepairs of jeans under their sarees.The owner realised that he hadbeen tricked by the women when he noticed the missing merchandise while puttingaway the clothes. He raised an alarm and personnel from the nearby police chowkynabbed the women who were trying to get away with the loot. The women also tookalong a child to seem more convincing. tnnThe trio is presently inpolice custody.Investigating officer Sunil Bhuge said the womenseemed to be professional thieves and hence the convincing act. Apparently, theyhad visited the same shop the previous day and selected several outfits thatthey asked the owner to keep aside for them.
