MUMBAI: Three senior MNS functionaries are set to join
BJP on Tuesday. This should come as a shock to MNS, which is still reeling from the debacle in the 2014 assembly elections.
State BJP chief Raosaheb Danve will welcome former legislators Pravin Darekar, Ramesh Patil and Vasant Gite into the party fold at a function in the city on Tuesday.
Three MNS corporators, and Prakash Darekar, Pravin’s brother who is also a corporator from Dahisar, are also keen on joining BJP, sources said.
While Darekar confirmed he was set to join the BJP, he refused to elaborate further. City BJP spokesperson Niranjan Shetty said, “Whoever believes in the BJP ideology is welcome to join the party.”
