An 11-member gang of professionally qualified youths from well-to-do families was busted by the Thane Police last week for deceiving job-seekers with the promise of employment in the govt sector on payment of lakhs of rupees.

A search conducted on his person led to the recovery of forged blank letterheads of the railway ministry and a few letters bearing the signature of the oil and natural gas minister,’’ said ACP Prashant Burde.
All the accused are well-educated. They promised their victims employment as TCs, assistant railway station managers and permanent ONGC jobs.
