Woman, 39, kills live-in partner in Bijnor, arrested

Bijnor: A 39-year-old woman was arrested for shooting dead her live-in partner in Bijnor after she accused him of assaulting and blackmailing her with objectionable videos, police said on Saturday.The woman, a resident of Bhaneda village under Kiratpur police station, was arrested on Friday under BNS section 103 (1) (murder). Sections under the Arms Act were added after police recovered a .315 bore country-made pistol along with a live cartridge.During the investigation, she told police that she shot 25-year-old Anuj on April 28.Bijnor SP Abhishek Jha said the woman had been living separately from her husband since 2023 and began a live-in relationship with Anuj in 2024.“She alleged that Anuj assaulted, blackmailed her with objectionable videos and demanded money. She also alleged that he forced her into relationships with others and had inappropriate intentions towards her minor daughter and sisters,” Jha said
