Delhi Approves ₹48,000 Crore Metro Expansion Plan To Connect Outer Regions With City Core
The Delhi government has approved a massive Phase V(B) expansion of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation network, adding over 97 km of new lines and 65+ stations across seven corridors. With an estimated cost of ₹48,000 crore, the project aims to connect outer regions like Najafgarh, Narela, Mithapur, and Khera Kalan with central Delhi.Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the expansion will ensure balanced urban growth and improved public transport access. Four corridors have been prioritised for completion by 2029, with the project currently awaiting final approval from the Centre.
