MEERUT: A 26-year-old groom from Dungrawali village in Meerut chased a thief who stole a cash garland made of Rs 50 notes during his pre-wedding rituals. The incident happened on Saturday, it went viral on Monday after a video was shared online.



The groom, Dev Kumar, was heading to a temple with his family when the thief snatched the garland from his nephew Vansh Kumar and drove off in a mini-truck.

Dev quickly got on a passing motorcycle and chased the thief on the Delhi-Dehradun highway.

After a short chase, Dev jumped onto the moving truck, climbed into the cabin through the window, and forced the driver to stop. With the help of others, he retrieved the garland.

The family decided not to press charges, and the thief was let go. The video received mixed reactions online, with some calling Dev brave and others saying it was too risky.
