Teen dies after inhaling geyser fumes in Bijnor

Bijnor: A 17-year-old girl died after allegedly inhaling toxic fumes emitted from a gas geyser installed in the bathroom of her house in Bhaguwala village of Bijnor district on Thursday.The Class 12 student returned home from school and went to take a bath, the family said, adding, fumes from the gas geyser built up inside the bathroom, which had no ventilation, caused her to suffocate and lose consciousness.When she did not come out for a long time, family members raised an alarm and broke open the door. She was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.Following the incident, a condolence meet was held at her school. Teachers described the student as quiet and diligent, and said her sudden death had left them shocked.Police said the family did not inform them about the incident. No complaint has been filed so far.
