The Toronto Maple Leafs, who were playing without goaltender Anthony Stolarz, are set to get a major boost as Stolarz will be back in the nets after a long time since he sustained an upper-body injury. This was announced by Toronto Maple Leafs head coach, who confirms that goalie Anthony Stolarz will get the nod against the Vegas Golden Knights at Scotiabank Arena, marking his first NHL start in more than two months. Earlier, Stolarz was assigned to the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies on Tuesday for a conditioning stint. It is to be noted that Stolarz has been sidelined for the Maple Leafs since Nov. 11, 2026, because of an upper-body injury that was initially thought to be a short-term issue. So far, Stolarz has six wins in 13 games played this season with a 3.51 goals-against average and an .884 save percentage.

Toronto Maple Leafs are set to get a huge boost as goalie Anthony Stolarz is set to make a return

The Toronto Maple Leafs are all set to get a huge boost as goalie Anthony Stolarz will probably make a comeback after a long hiatus due to his upper-body injury. Toronto Maple Leafs head coach confirms that goalie Anthony Stolarz will get the nod against the Vegas Golden Knights, his first start since November 11.“ It’s a huge boost,” Craig Berube said to reporters after the morning skate on Friday.
“He’s been working hard, and he’s ready to go, so we gotta get him in there at some point. He’s good to go, and we’re very happy he’s back.”As per reports, Stolarz last played more than two months ago against the Boston Bruins, when he left the game early due to what he later described as a nerve issue. The goalie did not skate for well over a month after suffering a setback in his recovery and saw a specialist for consultation before carefully working his way back into practice sessions.
In recent weeks, Stolarz was seen at various practices and travelled with the team during their recent Western road trip. The Leafs assigned him to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies on a conditioning loan on Tuesday to get some additional practices in before letting him return to the lineup.Meanwhile, Toronto (24-17-9) has lost its last two games and sits sixth in the Atlantic Division, three points back of the Boston Bruins. Whereas Vegas (24-13-12) has also lost its last two games but is first in the Pacific Division.
