MoU for med colleges in Sambhal & Maharajganj

Moradabad: The Uttar Pradesh government will set up two medical colleges in Sambhal and Maharajganj districts under the public-private partnership (PPP) mode. These are expected to begin operations by 2024.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) with two private institutions -- Shri Siddhi Vinayak Trust, Bareilly and Shanti Foundation Trust, Maharajganj -- was signed on Thursday in the presence of CM Yogi Adityanath at his official residence in Lucknow. This would be the first time that the state medical colleges are being set up through the public-private partnership mode, the chief minister said.

"The state government has set a target of establishing the medical colleges in Maharajganj and Sambhal districts by 2024,” he added.
