Man held for forging documents to join police force
Bijnor: A man, who exceeded the age limit for police recruitment, was arrested on Friday in Bareilly for using forged documents to secure a job. A case has been filed against Sonu Gupta, a resident of Akhtoli Naya Baans village of Etah district, at the Cantt police station.
Police said that the incident came to light when recruitment board members detected discrepancies in his paperwork. Upon verification, it was revealed that his age did not match the details on his documents. During biometric verification and e-KYC checks, authorities found that Sonu possessed a fake Aadhaar card along with forged high school and intermediate mark sheets. Inspector Vipin Kumar and SI Mohit Chaudhary immediately took him into custody.
Nodal Officer of the recruitment board, SP Traffic Akmal Khan said, "Two different high school mark sheets were recovered from him—one from 1995 and another from 2001. He changed his date of birth from Feb 10, 1995, to June 30, 2001. He will be produced before the court.
The physical efficiency test for civil police constable recruitment is currently being conducted at the 8th Battalion PAC campus in Bareilly district.
