Man dies in accidental firing while cleaning gun in Amroha

Meerut: A 25-year-old man died after accidentally shooting himself with a licensed revolver in the Hasanpur area of Amroha on Tuesday morning.Happy Chauhan, a resident of Rajput Chauhan Colony, was reportedly cleaning his weapon when it accidentally went off. The bullet hit him in the chest, leaving him critically injured.He was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Chauhan was the son of the village head of Fatehpur village and had got married around three months ago, locals said.Family members later took the body to their native village and performed the last rites at a Ganga ghat without informing the police or completing legal formalities.Hasanpur SHO Rajesh Kumar Tiwari said no official information about the incident had been received so far, and that further action would be taken once details emerge.
