BTech student hangs self at hostel room
Meerut: A 22-year-old student and a resident of Varanasi, Prashant Pandey, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in Meerut’s Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU) hostel room on Tuesday morning.
Pandey, a third-year BTech student majoring in information technology, was spotted by fellow students who noticed him hanging from his room's window, said student leader Vineet Chaprana.

He added, “Pandey was good in his studies and scored good marks in his first year. However, in the second year, he failed four subjects. His roommate said he was in depression as he failed the semester, owing to which he took the extreme step.” Medical police station SHO Avdesh Kumar said, “Post-mortem was done and the body handed over to his family.
