Body of man found in drain near Muzaffarnagar DM residence; police orders probe

Muzaffarnagar: In a rather shocking case, body of a man was found inside the drain near

Muzaffarnagar

district magistrate’s residence here on Tuesday.

The police has ordered a probe into the matter and found that the body belonged to a rickshaw-puller. The family of the victim suspects it to be a murder. According to sources, the deceased identified as Naresh Kumar 50, a resident of Rampuri and left home on Sunday evening with his e-rikshaw. On Monday morning when he did not turn back home his family launched a search driver but to no avail.

Meanwhile, police were informed by someone about the abandoned body in the drain nearby DM's residence. After being informed police rushed to spot and sent the body for autopsy. Deputy superintendent of police, Harish Bhadauria said, “After getting the postmortem report, an FIR will be registered into the matter and a preliminary investigation is already underway. Very soon we will be able to disclose the matter".

Earlier, on Sunday evening in Khatauli region, a financier Niraj Chauhan was shot dead by unidentified culprits who are yet to be arrested.
