Blaze damages Jal Jeevan Mission materials in Bijnor

Bijnor: A major fire broke out on Sunday evening at an LC Infra storage facility in Dharmpura, Noorpur, destroying equipment worth lakhs of rupees.

The company is currently working under the Jal Jeevan Mission, and the store had water tanks, pipes and other materials used for the project.

Residents noticed the blaze and alerted the fire department. Firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after a prolonged operation.

Preliminary investigation suggests that extreme heat and a possible short circuit may have caused the fire, though the exact reason is yet to be confirmed.

Officials said there has been a rise in fire incidents due to intense summer temperatures and advised institutions and residents to follow safety measures.

LC Infra project officer Gaurav Singh said the exact cause of the fire will be known after a detailed investigation.
