MEERUT: A clash took place between BJP and RLD party workers while international wrestler Babita Phogat was canvassing in Meerut’s Siwalkhas area on Saturday. One person was injured but was discharged after first aid. No FIR had been filed in the matter till the time of filing this report.
SSP Prabhakar Chaudhary, SSP, said Babita Phogat was campaigning for BJP candidate Maninder Pal Singh in Siwalkhas when a man from another political party disrupted her campaign and started making a video of the same.

This led to a heated argument "between the supporters of the two parties" and in the ensuing scuffle, one person was injured.
“No complaint has been filed against anyone so far but police will take appropriate action if Babita or anyone wants to file an FIR,” said the SSP.
A few days ago, stones were hurled on the convoy of Manindar Pal Singh in the same area. Pal had claimed that RLD workers had attacked his convoy. He faced a similar kind of protest from people of Patholi village, where he had visited for poll campaign last week.
