35yo woman tied to pole, assaulted over child-lifting suspicion

Bijnor: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly tied to an electric pole and brutally beaten by a crowd in Chhanga Darwaza locality of Amroha district after she was accused of attempting to abduct a child on Tuesday night, police said Thursday.Eyewitnesses said hundreds of people gathered at the scene, with many recording the assault on their phones rather than intervening. The woman pleaded for her life and repeatedly claimed her innocence, but the crowd ignored her appeals.A video of the incident also surfaced and is circulating widely on social media platforms. Police arrived in time to rescue her and took her into custody for questioning. Cops are now looking at the videos to identify those involved in the assault.Circle officer (City) Abhishek Yadav said, "The matter is under investigation and strict action would be taken against those found guilty." He appealed to the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and to report any suspicious activity.
