26-year-old beaten to death over eve teasing

Bijnor: A 26-year-old man died on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday after being beaten by a group of men during a confrontation that allegedly took place over a minor issue. The incident was reported from Bijnor’s Badhapur area. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to police, the victim Manoj Kumar, 26, a resident of Premnagar had gone to Bagnala village along with his friend Balvinder Singh on a motorcycle on Thursday night.Manoj soon entered into an altercation with the accused men, who were reportedly under the influence of alcohol. The accused, identified as Sadan Kumar, Sonu, Shaunath Singh and Rohit of Bagnala village, thrashed Manoj with sticks. His friend Balvinder Singh soon informed Manoj’s relatives about the incident and took him to a private hospital.
A case has been registered against four persons-Sonu, Rohit, Shaunath and Sadan- under section 304 of IPC. All accused are at large, informed police.
Station house officer of Barapur, Rajkumar Sharma, said, “The accused men belong to the Bhoksa tribe. All of them were reportedly under the influence of alcohol when the incident took place. Manoj was also reportedly drunk. The dispute developed over an issue of eve-teasing. A search is on to nab the miscreants.”
